Go into exile in Banished, an exciting strategy game that surprisingly leaves out online multiplayer.
You're in a band of exiles struggling for survival with few tools at their disposal. Unlike most games of this kind, you're completely on your own here. You won't have access to other online players to help you guard property or possessions. It's just you against the city you're trying to construct from the ground up. There are many games of this kind out there, but banished knows its strengths and weaknesses well and gives players a unique twist on a well-worn genre.
Some of the interesting things about the game include the fact that you actually age. Seasons change, and people even die in the game. All facets of the game are against this type of environment where the world really plays true-to-life, and realism is a focal point of the experience.
To start off, you'll need to work on your building skills. To build, you need materials. Hunting and gathering these materials can be a real challenge thanks to the monsters you'll be facing. Fascinatingly, generations come to life in this city. People are born. They start school. They work. They die. They're replaced. So depressingly enough, it's about like real life.
As your city grows, you'll need to build larger organizations to take care of their needs. You're going to need governments, schools and industrial complexes. It's all part of life in banished. Can you help the exiles establish a new and better civilization?
